“During ancient times we were prosperous. There was rain, the grass would grow, and there were so many camels, goats and cows. But the droughts came repeatedly, the land became dry, and we lost all our livestock.”

In the Horn of Africa, years of conflict and climate change has been devastating to the ecosystem. The livelihood of many and perhaps the whole nomadic way of life could disappear.

However, one of our program partners, Bizra, is working to fight desertification in this region. The program’s focus is to heal and restore grasslands and by doing so, they help farmers and their cattle.

Below is a short video called “Healing the Grasslands” that explains this program. We encourage you to check it out.
